As with any vial cap, choose the preferred cap color (black, blue, red, green, yellow, pink, white, grey, or transparent) paired with the septum that is compatible with your autosampler needle (gauge and tip form) and solvent. The softer the septum, the thinner the needle can be. Sealing and re-sealing is improved by softer septa.
